10:18 隐藏怨恨的，有说谎的嘴；口出谗谤的，是愚妄的人。
10:19 多言多语难免有过；禁止嘴唇是有智慧。
10:20 义人的舌乃似高银；恶人的心所值无几。
10:21 义人的口教养多人；愚昧人因无知而死亡。
18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.
19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
20 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.
21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.
这还是第一次《箴言》教导我们怎样说话。解释一下就是；不要因为憎恨而说谎，不要诽谤他人，不要多言多语，少说话是智慧，义人的话像金银，愚人的话一文不值。
最后一句经文10:21b有点拗口，“愚昧人因无知而死亡“。愚昧人无知就会死亡吗？当然不是。这里说的不是肉体的死亡，而是没有智慧的愚人（箴言111:10 敬畏耶和华是智慧的开端）因为没有神，缺乏对上帝的认识，对上帝的蔑视，因而不能成为智慧的人，所以他们的灵魂死亡，得不到神赐给的永生的生命。
